Overview:
This course explores client attunement within the context of sexual trauma therapy, emphasizing the therapist’s ability to respond to clients with presence, empathy, and embodied awareness. Participants will examine the psychophysiological foundations of trauma and learn how to engage clients using nonverbal cues, mindful communication, and co-regulatory strategies. The course incorporates somatic, relational, and sex-positive approaches to help clinicians create a therapeutic container that fosters safety and healing. Emphasis is placed on developing attunement as a dynamic and intentional skill that supports clients in reclaiming agency, connection, and sexual well-being.
