Description
While the LGBTQIA+ community has come a long way since the sexual revolution in the ‘60s, this demographic is still a minority population and needs to be recognized as such, with rampant discrimination occurring regularly throughout the world. Indeed, there are still countries where homosexuality is punishable by death. In this webinar, we’ll explore how attachment theory can be applied to understanding how minority stress impacts LGBTQIA+ people and impacts identity development. We’ll look at the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity through the attachment lens, explore the similarities and differences of the various sub-groups of this population with developing a keener sense of how attachment theory can be particularly helpful when working with LGBTQIA+ sexuality.
