ADHD is one of the most researched neurological disorders. That has not been the case for AFAB people and their experiences of ADHD over their lifespan. More specifically there has been no investigation of their experiences sexually and how ADHD may impact their experiences and their ability to experience sexual pleasure and connect with partners. In this talk listeners can expect to learn how AFAB people describe their understanding of how their symptoms of ADHD impact their sexual experiences and their bodies generally. Also expect to learn about how online communities have become huge places of support, misinformation, solidarity, and sharing of personal medical information. Listeners will also receive tips for improving their sexual experiences that are supportive of ADHD or other neurodivergence.
Learning Objectives:
• Explain three pervasive myths about ADHD specific to AFAB people.
• Discuss first-person experiences with ADHD symptoms and sexual functioning and respond appropriately.
• Describe in detail the benefits of online community support while also exploring of the risks
• Describe 2 specific interventions to offer AFAB clients/patients to improve their sexual experiences.

• Research data explanation qualitative/quantitative second hour
• Case Studies 3rd hour

Speaker Bio:
Dr. Erika Miley (Dr. E) helps professionals around their discomfort with treating patients’ sexual concerns. She provides intimate training through workshops, keynote presentations, and writing. As a subject matter expert in neurodiversity and sexuality, Dr. E presents sexual information in easy to understand ways so healthcare providers can give access to higher quality care their patients need. Her background in research and as a professor for institutions such as Whitworth University and Modern Sex Therapy Institutes make Dr. Erika uniquely qualified to train healthcare providers.
