Description:
This workshop includes 6 modules that address and explain the Organizing Constructs: Biological Sex, Gender Identity, & Gender Expression;
Psychosocial Challenges & Strengths for Transgender and Non-Binary Clients; Cultural Implications: Cultural Humility and Competency in Clinical Care with Transgender & Non-Binary Gender People; and Assessment & Implications of Transgender & Non-Binary Gender Identities. Case examples will be used.

Speaker Bios:
Dr. Brent Satterly is an Associate Professor and the Director of the BSW Program in Widener University’s Center for Social Work Education. He received his Masters of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College and a Doctorate in Human Sexuality Education from the University of Pennsylvania. With over 20 years clinical experience, Dr. Satterly is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania and a Certified Sexuality Educator and Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). His areas of expertise include clinical work with Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) populations, GLBT professional identity management, human sexuality and social work pedagogies, and HIV/AIDS. He is well-published and is a member of good standing in AASECT, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and the Association of Baccalaureate Program Directors in Social Work (BPD).
Don Dyson has an undergraduate degree in communications and studied clinical social work at Bryn Mawr. There, he discovered the real need in human services to address issues in human sexuality. He then completed his doctoral degree in human sexuality at the University of Pennsylvania. While both working and studying full time, he developed a career in sexuality education that included AIDS Delaware, Planned Parenthood, Wesley House, CAI, Inc., and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. From that experience, I moved to the academic world where he could pursue his passion: the training of sexuality professionals.

The Advanced Mental Health Training Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No.6901. For asynchronous/recorded courses, attendees must complete the course, pass the posttest (80% in 3 attempts) and complete the evaluation to receive credit.
