Speaker Bios:

 

Karen Caffee PhD, LMFT, MEd, CST, AAMFT Approved Supervisor, AASECT Supervisor in Training. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (2012) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Couple and Family Therapy (2023) from Adler University. She holds a Master of Education in Human Sexuality (2020) from Widener University. Dr. Caffee is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Illinois, where she continues to work as a certified sex therapist in her newly opening private practice EHP Sexological and Therapeutic Services. She is also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and is pursuing her AASECT Approved Supervisor certification with an anticipated completion of 2024. Her clinical and scholarly areas focus on the integration of CFT and sexological topics, with several academic publications and state, national, and international conference presentations. She has several ongoing research projects. Dr. Caffee currently the Interim Executive Director of the Illinois Affiliation of Marriage and Family Therapists and sits on the Society of Sex Therapy and Research Communications Committee.

Joanne Flannery is a Certified Clinical Sexologist and Licensed Couple and Family Therapist. Jo holds a master’s degree in clinical sexology and counseling from Curtin University in Western Australia and earned her Couple and Family therapy degree from Adler University in Chicago. She then spent two years as a member of the Greenhouse, a postgraduate training program at Lifeworks Psychotherapy Center in Skokie. Jo established Bliss Chicago Psychotherapy in 2019 where she specializes in working with sexual desire discrepancy and intimacy.
