Modern attachment theory has been framed as an Affect Regulation Theory. Attachment and affect are intertwined. Under the auspices of the University of Pennsylvania, the Sexuality, Attachment and Trauma Project identified Avoidant Attachment as being correlated to Out of Control Sexual Behavior (OCSB). The utilization of affect and attachment theory as a way to help individuals to restore themselves to sexual and psychological health is essential. This workshop identifies the affect relation difficulties related to OCSB and how to treat them. The treatment model has utility for individual, couples and group therapy. Specific intervention will be explored. The workshop includes case examples and group discussion.
