Dr. Kimberly Castelo specializes in sex and attachment.  Dr. Castelo is certified and is a supervisor in all the EFT modalities and as a Sex Therapist. She brings a wealth of experience, practical interventions and invaluable information about the power of attachment in sex therapy.  Over the years she has heard sex therapists say – “I love attachment, but I am not sure how it fits into sex therapy” OR “I love attachment work, but not sure how to bring up sex!”  Attachment theory joined with sex therapy can foster the secondary change we are hoping occurs with our clients regardless of their presenting concern! Kimberly will help you learn and thrive as you become a Certified Sex Attachment Therapist (CAST). Let’s begin to learn to hear the heart (attachment longing) of our clients.

Unique Qualifications of Modern Sex Therapy Institutes

“Sex therapy is an unregulated field in all states except Florida, which means many people who have licenses to practice therapy can call themselves sex therapists without formal training,” Dr. Needle states. “It is a good idea for clients to ask therapists about their training in sex and relationships when those are the issues they are coming in with” she notes.

Modern Sex Therapy Institutes has been offering Continuing Education (CE) and Sex Therapy Certification for over 15 years, providing the most flexible scheduling, course, and payment options in the market! With over 300 workshops to choose from, you can get all of your CE Hours for AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists) or your license in person in 8 states, online via live (Zoom) webinars, or via video recordings.

Modern Sex Therapy Institutes is an AASECT, APA, ASWB and NBCC approved CE provider and offers Certification in Sex Therapy, Counseling and Education, 18 other specialty certifications, a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology, and Renewal CE Hours.

Rooted in the core principles of sex therapy, MSTI takes a true, multidisciplinary approach, by integrating cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, relational, and systemic approaches within the emerging field of sexual medicine. Our training programs are trailblazing new pathways into the future of integrative sex therapy by providing mental health and medical professionals a robust and growing foundation for healing, improving relationships, and sexual well-being.

In addition, the institutes’ directors will work with students individually to help ensure they meet all education, supervision, and dissertation requirements for completion of the degree and certification including guiding them through the application process.
