Dr. Andreea Sofalvi is a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience specializing in trauma informed care. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with an MA in Clinical Counseling and holds a PhD in Sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institutes. Dr. Sofalvi is dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotional and sexual well-being. She has made it a focus to destigmatize conversations around sexuality. From an early age, Dr. Sofalvi found inspiration in the beauty of the human form depicted in paintings and was intrigued by the autonomy over one’s body and pleasure. This passion led her to pursue a career in sexology, where she empowers clients to explore their desires and celebrate their unique sexual identities.
Dr. Sofalvi has extensive experience in behavior modification, mostly with individuals with developmental disabilities. For the past 8 years, she has worked mostly with complex trauma, attachment and dissociation. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), informed in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative Therapy. Her multifaceted approach to therapy allows her to tailor treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
