$160.00

4 CE Hours

Presented by: Heather L. Corwin, PhD, MFA, LPC

Description:

Creating a foundation for our clients to explore and expand the relationship they have with themselves is one that we need to cultivate as mental health providers. What is vital in the unspoken understanding of being has to do with our essence. This course will utilize movement practices, breathwork, reflection, and modeling to expand skills and ways of working with others. Somatic means the indivisible relationship between the body and mind. We will discover ways of having experiences and mindfully articulating how these experiences might be used to facilitate the therapeutic relationship, self-awareness, and the building blocks necessary to explore intimacy and sexual courage.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss the usefulness of breathwork and movement
Explain how nonverbal exercises can support client awareness
Describe 2 exercises that are easily accessible and practical
Discuss how the relationship between sensation, impulse, and expression is crucial in the therapeutic relationship
