This course discusses the potential impacts of perimenopause and menopause onm sexual desire, arousal, and pleasure. Dr. Rachel Zar discusses sex therapy concepts and real world applications for clients who are presenting with sexual functioning concerns after menopause.

Speaker Bios

 

Rachel Zar is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, and Clinical Sexologist who specializes in relationship and sex therapy. She also holds certificates in sex therapy and sexuality education. Dr. Zar sees individuals and couples and provides clinical supervision at Avid Intimacy, a private group therapy practice in Chicago. Dr. Zar is proudly an LGBTQ-, kink-, and poly- affirmative clinician. Dr. Zar is passionate about educating and mentoring other clinicians, and she frequently lectures, writes, and provide expert interviews for the media on myriad sex and relationship topics.

Rachel holds a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institutes, a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, and certificates in sex therapy and sexuality education from University of Michigan. She’s worked in multiple private therapy practices throughout Chicago and spent five years with Northwestern Medicine’s Center for Sexual Medicine, working alongside specialized physicians to treat sexual functioning concerns. Rachel is passionate about mentoring other clinicians, and she frequently lectures, writes, and provide expert interviews for the media on myriad sex and relationship topics.
