Description:

This workshop will focus on the treatment of sexual abusers.  We will also address the characteristics of offenders to help them effectively manage their thoughts, fantasies, feelings, attitudes, and behaviors associated with their potential to sexually abuse.  We will discuss ways to reduce risk for reoffending and how to help them build a new lifestyle.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the various ways sexual offenders can take responsibility
  • Describe the characteristics of a sexual offender
  • Explain 3 types of thinking errors sexual offenders most commonly utilize
  • List 3 ways one can prevent relapse

Speaker Bio:

Danielle Besaw, MHC graduated from South University with her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. She worked  with the Mobile Crisis Team at the Jerome Golden Center for over four years, where she performed crisis intervention at the facility as well as in the community.  Crisis is different for everyone, ranging from depression, active psychosis, to completed suicides.  She has been worked with those with sexual offending behaviors for at B&K Counseling Services for six years.

The Advanced Mental Health Training Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No.6901.
