Data describing the novel opposition to masturbation from “manosphere” influencers is provided with examples from media. New data from a large laboratory study of male masturbation are included in these discussions.

– Describe how often men and women report engaging in masturbation
– Identify the most common reasons that people report that they engage in masturbation
– Name the emotion that improves most reliably after orgasm from masturbation in ongoing laboratory research
– Identify two strategies to help clients distressed by masturbation within their romantic relationship partner(s)
